トーイックのパート７の読解問題を意識しています。
中学・高校レベルの簡単な問題です。
解答は下の方にあります〜。

さて、本日の問題です〜。
○トーイックテスト・問題８３
In this part you will read a selection of texts, such as magazine
and newspaper articles, letters, and advertisements. Each text is
followed by several questions. Select the best answer for each
question and mark the letter (A),(B),(C)or(D) on your answer sheet.
ちょっと気分を出してみましたが、解答用紙はありませんし、
質問もひとつだけです（笑）。
中学レベルの文法問題が続いているので、
ちょこっと、高校レベルでいってみたいです〜。
ということで、百均ネタのトーイック読解問題です。

Operating Precautions
・THe product is not edible.Should the product be eaten,consult a

・Should the contents be left on the hands or get in the eyes,rinse
thoroughly with fresh water.
・If you become ill after using this product,be sure to consult a

direct sunlight.
・Do not use the product in the fallen or up-side-down status.

・Peel off the packaging film along the perforated line.
・Remove the upper cap and then peel off the aluminum seal.( Be

○ What's the caution about?
（A） Polypropylene

○トーイックの語い
operate は動詞で「（機械など）を操作する」
precaution は名詞で「警戒、予防策」
caution に接頭語の pre-（あらかじめの意味）が付いたのですね。
operating precaution で「使用上の（事前の）注意」
edible は形容詞で「食用に適する」
ハーブによくある「エディブルフラワー」の edible です。
eatable も形容詞で「何とか食べられる」
ニュアンスは違います〜。
consult は動詞で「専門家の意見を求める、医師に診察してもらう」
Kero consulted a doctor about her headache.
「ケロは頭痛がするので、医者に診てもらった。」
consultant は名詞で「顧問」、和製英語になっていますね。
physician は名詞で「内科医」、外科医は surgeon です。
rinse は動詞で「ゆすぐ、すすぐ」
名詞で使うと「ヘアリンス」、これも和製英語になってますね。
thoroughly は形容詞の thorough の副詞形で「徹底的に、完全に」
接尾語の -ly から、副詞とわかるので、知らない単語なら無視して
先に進んでもOKです（笑）。
direction は名詞で、複数形で使って「使用法、説明書」
the directions for this product
「この製品の説明書き」
content は名詞で「容器などの中身や含有量、文書などの内容や項目」
後者の意味では、和製英語になっています。
「ブログのコンテンツ」とかって言いますよね。
perforate は動詞で「穴を開ける、ミシン目を入れる」
perforated line で「ミシン目（点線の切り取り線）」
odor は名詞で「臭い、臭気」
香り（ smell ）の意味でも使えますが、普通はいやな臭いを指します。
elimination は動詞の eliminate の名詞形で「除去、排除」
odor elimination で「消臭」ですね。
approx. は approximately の省略形で「およそ、約」、
about よりも正式な語感です。
circumstance は名詞で、複数形で使って「周囲の状況」
生活環境は environment を使うと。
depending on the circumstances 「環境によって異なります」
というのも、効能の説明の定型的な文句ですね。
perfume は動詞で「香水をつける、香りで満たす」
過去分詞の形容詞的用法で、non-perfumed は「無香料の」
ingredient は名詞で「成分、原料」
absorbent は名詞で「吸収剤」
fragrant は形容詞で「よい香りのする」
名詞の fragrance はフレグランスとして、和製英語になってます。
fragrant materials で「香料」ですね。
external は形容詞で「外部の」
intermediate は形容詞で「中間にある」
bead は名詞で「ビーズ」
○トーイックの文法
やはり、命令文が多いです。
中学の英文法を超えているのは、関係副詞と仮定法です。
倒置で if が省略されている仮定法がわかりにくいかもしれません。
関係副詞と仮定法は文法編でジミ〜に取り上げたいです。
２．トーイックテスト・解答８３
実際の問題では、もっとマトモな内容です（笑）。
しつこく単語を取り上げてみたのは、あんまり細かいことにこだわると
きりがないと感じていただきたかったからです。
ケロは知らない単語がいっぱいありました。
(^^;)
でも、単語を引かなくっても、だいたいの内容は見当がつきました。
まあ、現物を見ているのですから、当たり前ですけどね。
語いはとっても大事だと思いますが、実際には周辺情報にヒントがあることが
ほとんどのはずです。
トーイックでも、話題が大づかみにできれば、細かいところはわからなくても
解答できる場合が多いのではないかな〜。
ええと、ケロの問題だと、Product Name にズバリ解答が書いてありますね。
